As our school year closes, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of our school this past year. It was a great year! We had a beautiful celebration of Mass this morning. Fr. Eugene gave a wonderful homily, affirmed the good work done at our school, complimented the students on their hard work and accomplishments and said how proud he is to be associated with St. Vincent’s. He wished us all a happy and blessed summer. His parting word was a reminder to us to pray everyday and when possible attend Mass. I wish you a happy and blessed summer and look forward to seeing you all in the fall!

Each school year we celebrate Spirit Week during the third week of May. It was a great experience for our students again this year as they had many opportunities to showcase their gifts and talents. The highlights were as follows: the annual Dime Race for the children in the mission world. We collected $1800.00 for them. Our music teacher had different grades demonstrate skills the students mastered. They had songs to share. Students in grades fourth through seventh played their recorders. For Poetry Day, students in kindergarten through eighth grade recited poems/speeches. We had a fabulous talent show mid week with all grades participating. The week ended with Field Day. This is always a fun day for sports. Parents came out and helped with the races, games and general supervision. Two teams were identified as having the most spirit. The students are already looking forward to next year’s events!

We prayed this rosary recently in church. Archbishop J. Sheen created the Mission Rosary in 1951.

May is a busy but happy month for St. Vincent's. It is a privilege of the eighth grade class to do May Crowning. We had the May Crowning at the family mass on Mother's Day. Isabella Torregiani was the May Queen. Her attendants were Vanessa Coito and Megan Dominguez from her class and sweet Adrienne Ferguson from first grade carried the beautiful custom floral crown.
