Curriculum

St. Vincent de Paul School provides a challenging, comprehensive, and relevant curriculum for each student that fulfills the school’s mission and philosophy. In carrying out our mission, St. Vincent de Paul School implements a unique curriculum that blends the National Standards, California State Framework, the San Diego Diocesan Curriculum, and the Core Knowledge Sequence. The use of these comprehensive guidelines when combined with the School-Wide Learning Expectations help create purposeful and meaningful teaching methodologies to nurture life-long learners.

Religious Education

The school’s curriculum strengthens Catholic identity with instruction that is centered on religious truths and values. Students are given opportunities to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired in the religion program with other curricular areas and activities.

Learning experiences in all subject areas, coupled with practicing appreciation and respect for the diversity of all people and cultures, provide opportunities for spiritual growth.

School liturgies are important in developing our Catholic School Spirit. Students are involved in preparing school Masses and paraliturgies, and in the monthly Parish Family Masses.

Students in grades five and eight take the ACRE Survey every school year.

The second grade teacher and principal under the direction of the parish catechetical director prepare children in second grade for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist.
